Run # 987 this week was at Minh Dam Mountain starting at the temple grounds. 36 happy hashers stumbled off the bus in the temple grounds immediately running in to the shade, quickly rounded up, the chalk talk was delivered by Frenchy, and a group photo was taken, then we set off along the trail. Winding our way along a dusty path we crossed a bridge heading to the plantation before heading straight up the side of the mountainside. Clambering over rocks, passing an old house, up we went through the thick brush winding our way further up the side of the mountain. Reaching a set of steps, we turned left and headed up to the temple on the summit, passing an underground cave we ventured inside dodging the bats and spiders we ambled along popping out the other side. On to the temple up more steps we finally reached the top where the view was magnificent, selfies galore were snapped before we set off to the next underground passage leading to the Minh Dam carpark. Racing down the shady trail with the smell of beer in the air we all made it back to the down down spot in the carpark. The afternoon weather at the temple not to hot, a great shady spot for the DD, beer was whoofed down and the food disappeared in nano seconds. No monkeys this week which was a god send as they usually steal everything left unattended. The down down was enjoyed by all, sinners were doused with icy cold beer, returnees offered their meager excuses as to why they had been away, and the hare’s were soaked in beer. As the sun began to set, hashers suitably lubricated, the circle complete and all beer consumed, we loaded the hash bus and headed back to the home of the Hash in Vung Tau the Pacific Bia Tuoi. See you all at run # 988 – On On.
