Run # 962 at Nui Dinh – Ngoc Son Dinh temple was a brilliant mountain trial encompassing Ngoc Son Dinh and Thanh Vien Dinh temples. Forty-eight happy hashers rolled up the home of the Hash the “Pacific Bia Tuoi” ready to go. After registrations were complete, the hash bus was packed with beer, softies, food; we set off to collect our Russian hasher team at the Russian Village and headed out to Nui Dinh. The chalk talk was delivered by Boozer prior to setting off on the trail. With haste we set off along the trail stopping to take a group photo and the sleeping Buddha statue prior to ascending the steps to the second tier of the temple. Passing through the small temple adorned with Buddha statues we excitedly commenced the climb up the 300 steps that led to the jungle walk leading to Thanh Vien Duc temple. The weather was overcast, damp with little snippets of sunshine poking through as we wound our way along the trail up and down the inclines. The babbling brooks were flowing as we crossed them to each side to the trail that led to the valley base with brilliant views of the temple buildings high on the side of the valley. Down the slippy concrete path we descended into the second valley passing 10 – 20 Buddha statues, passing the monks sitting on the chairs waving to us as we walked by. With a sharp right turn we ascended the trail passing many many more statues, prior to descending down to Thanh Vein Duc temple where there were more statues vividly adorned with bright colors and serene gardens to admire. Arriving back at the down down after an hour and a half walk, we ripped into the beer spending time to cool down after our run, sweat, and beers run. As the hashers slowly returned the beer flowed, music played and the party got into full swing with dancing, chatting and great food to enjoy all washed down by icy cold beer. The group photo was taken as we stood next to the dragon statue, quickly followed by the circle. Sinners were doused with beer, virgins were grilled, and four hash names were awarded. As the light began to fade, hashers were suitably filled with food and beer, we quickly boarded the hash bus with full eskies of beer and set off in the dusk back to the hash home at the Bia Toui – On On
