Run # 961 was at Long Son Island this week with the down down at the chicken shop. Fifty-two happy hashers and two hash dogs rolled up the home of the Hash the “Pacific Bia Tuoi” ready to go. After registrations were complete, the hash bus was packed with beer, softies, food; we set off to collect our Russian hasher team at the Russian Village and headed out to Long Son. The chalk talk was delivered by Inna to follow the green tape, smell the of chicken and the aroma of beer near the end the trail and they had found the down down spot. With excitement we set off along the trail turning left along the main road then left again up the trail. In the rain we advanced along the trail under the barbwire fence, through the farmers field, into the construction site and up the side of Long Son mountain. The view was fantastic, the trail was wet, slippy and lots of spiky bamboo to traverse, but without fear we climbed the side of the mountain reaching the top in thirty minutes. As usual hashers took many selfies in the rain with the low cloud skimming off the top on the peak, after all selfies were over, we set off down the trail to the base of the mountain. The last leg of the trail was straight through the bamboo jungle for 20 meters then on to the chicken shop. Beer was awaiting us as we arrived at the DD spot, chicken, salad, rice, banh mi, and Russian sandwiches were whoofed down with haste, lubricated by icy cold beer. Fifty-two hashers enjoy the atmosphere, chatting away, eating the great food as the music played all afternoon. The group photo was taken in the rain but we did not care, more beer was imbibed at great haste then we boarded the bus with full eskies of beer as we set off in the dusk back to the hash home at the Bia Toui – On On
