This week’s run # 952 was on Small Mountain, with the down down at the Army Cafe, forty-three excited hashers rolled up the home of the Hash the “Pacific Bia Tuoi” to enjoy the afternoon. After registrations were complete we set off along Ha Long road turning left at Mr. Ket and headed up the mountain to the Army road; turning left again we arrived at the Army Café the start of the trail. This week’s trail after a brief walk led us through the French bunker at the Cable battery. Many hashers had never been inside the bunker before, so upon arriving we used our mobile phones as a light source to enter inside and traversed the length of the bunker. Once outside we climbed to the top, over the gun emplacements and back on to the Army road heading to the light house steps. With a sharp left turn we ascended the steps to the top then following the trail to the left we arrived at the rubbish dump café and on to the lighthouse road. The traffic was quite busy but not daunted we followed the road down past the café which has a beautiful view of Vung Tau, down further, then over the railing and down to Hi Dang road. Whizzing past the Army camp we turned left up an old set of steps hidden away that led us back to the Army café, where the Down Down barbeque was awaiting the hungry Hashers. With the barbecue ablaze charcoal glowing red, our hash chef Peemaker could be seen sizzling the meat as the pungent aroma of barbecuing beef and chicken wafted through the air. The beer coolers were quickly ripped open and our thirst quenched as we gulped down copious bottle after bottle of icy cold Sagota. The hash rock box was cranked up, with great music booming, delicious food consumed, along with icy cold beer and a beautiful sunny afternoon, we danced and danced the afternoon away. With selfies taken, videos made, the sun setting on the horizon, the hashers slowly made their way home. The hash beer truck rolled up and when loaded we set off back to the home of the hash the Pacific Bia Toui, lamenting the great trail and afternoon we had enjoyed – On On
