This week’s run # 946 was on Small Mountain with the down down at the Valley Beach. Thirty-Seven happy hashers rolled up at the home of the Hash the “Pacific Bia Tuoi”. After registrations were complete, the hash beer truck was loaded with Sagota beer, softies and food. We set on off on our hash motorbikes and headed to Uno Coffee, the start of the run. With bright sunlight shining Frenchy gave the chalk talk we proceeded up the hem adjacent to Uno, up the steps and up the mountain side heading to the Army road. Slowly winding our way along the mountain in Indian file, with two hash dogs Charlie and Hot dog; we climbed our way through the thickening undergrowth finally reaching the army road. After a brief rest in the gleaming sunlight we set off on or way to the light house via the ridge line, with thickening undergrowth, new fresh spiky bamboo we wound our way up to the light house. At the lighthouse it was selfie time with the great views of Vung Tau available, the cameras clicked away. After a group photo we headed down Hi Dang road to the rubbish tip turn off and descended the trail to the derelict villa, only passing one green and yellow snake hanging from a tree on the middle of the trail. With everyone back to the army road we set off to Hi Van temple and down to Ha Long road and back to Uno Coffee to collect our hash motorbikes and race to Valley beach. At the DD spot everything was set up by our beer master Mr. Tien, with great gusto we ripped into the icy cold Sagota beer, chomped on the fresh banh mi, enjoyed the tasty sandwiches, and finished off with more of our sponsors Sagota beer. But with the weather changing and a threatening storm approaching, the group photo was taken. With 41 hashers now at the down down the circle was started with circle songs sung, Sagota beers swilled and when suitably lubricated it was time for the hashers to return home just as the rain swamped us around 5pm – On On
