Big Mountain – Beer Hoi

Date: 15/03/2020
Hares: Flying Finn
CircleMaster: Boozer
Harriers: 25

This week’s run 933 on Big Mountain was challenging, the power line trail, no cloud cover and a beating hot sun made it harder.  Twenty-five happy hashers departed the Pacific Beer Hoi heading to hem 89 to get to the start of the trail at Vibar road.  Flying Finn delivered a clear precise chalk talk, then we were off heading down Vibar road to the M90 trail, a sharp left turn was executed and were heading up the mountainside.  Following the green tape laid by hashers from HCM a few days earlier we climbed up to the start of the power line .  The climb looked gruelling and it was, with the hot days sun beating down we steadily ascended higher and higher to the top of the power line to reach Ho May Park.  With a clear day, hot sweaty bodies we had a short respite at the peak, then we were off along the side of big mountain which was a lot shadier, with a slight breeze blowing we reached the left turn that led us to the waterfall trail turn off, then descended down to Vibar road.  With the permeating smell of beer hoi beer in the air we hurriedly reached hem 89, down the steps we went on to the beer hoi.  Exulted we sat down to refreshing icy cold glasses of beer, steadily the hashers returned and the group grew larger and larger, delicious food supplied by the beer hoi was early consumed by the hungry, hashers, with music playing, beer eagerly drank with appetising food we partied on, with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves until late into the evening – until the next run – On On
