"VTCH3" HASH SONGS TO SING ON THE BUS
WHILST BEER DRINKING ON THE THE WAY BACK TO THE HASH HOME

“One of life’s great pleasures is a cold beer with a great sing-song on the way home from an excellent trail and enjoyable Down Down!”
– A visiting Hasher –

As we’ve mentioned elsewhere on this website, our bus trips average 30-45 minutes, depending on the trail location that particular day.  So what better way to occupy the journey home than the “VTCH3 international song festival”?  With average attendance representing more than 10 nationalities every week, we’re well positioned for such multicultural activities!

Maggie May – various artists

Oh Maggie, Maggie
May, they have taken her away,
And she’ll never walk down Lime Street anymore.
The judge he guilty found her, of robbin’ homeward-bounders,
That dirty, robbin’ call girl Maggie May!

I was paid off at the Pool, in the port of Liverpool,
Three pounds ten a week, that was my pay.
With a pocket full of tin, I was very soon taken in,
By dirty robbin’ call girl Maggie May!

Now the first time I saw Maggie, she took my breath away,
She was cruising up and down in Canning Place.
She had a figure so divine, her voice was so refined,
Well, being a sailor I gave chase!

In the morning I awoke, I was flat and stony broke,
No jacket, trousers, waistcoat could I find.
And when I asked her, “Where”?  She said, “My very dear sir,
They’re down in Kelly’s pawnshop number nine.”

To the pawnshop I did go, no clothes there did I find,
And the police, they took that gal away from me.
And the judge he guilty found her,
Of robbin’ homeward-bounders,
She’ll never walk down Lime Street anymore.

Repeat 1.
